Summer Jam Remix

The Central Texas Food Bank, a registered not-for-profit organization, works with food donors, financial supporters and volunteers across the country to fill unmet needs here in the Hill Country. The organization is committed to feeding people in 21 Central Texas counties via soup kitchens, food pantries and after-school programs. As a leader in the fight against hunger for more than 30 years, its mission is to alleviate hunger in our community.

As a veteran volunteer, I would like you to join forces with me in the effort to replenish food and monetary donations. Unfortunately, The Austin Reggae Festival, one of the largest supporters of The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, recently suffered a $100,000 loss of donations for the cause due to inclement weather the weekend of the event. Through the donation campaigns, we will be able to help the food bank prepare for summer service. Most of the summer clients will be comprised of school-aged children who are eligible for free or reduced lunch as well as families that are in need of food. For them, food bank services will be the only food access they have. With our support, our children and their families will have one less burden.

Together we can reach our goal in a couple of ways - offering spaces to place food donation boxes around the area beginning June 1, making donations at the Summer Jam Remix on July 9th at Space 12, and spreading the word to everyone in our networks to create an extensive support system for this worthy cause. With all of us offering a helping hand, we are certain to reach our goal and beyond.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. I look forward to teaming up with you!
