On Saturday, September 20, 2014 and throughout the month of September more than fifty Macaroni Kid Publishers are coming together to Make a Difference in their communities and included in this amazing national day will be a Capital Area Food Bank Drive hosted by all 4 Austin area Macaroni Kid sites.

Throughout the month of September, Macaroni Kid will be holding an online food drive for the Capital Area Food Bank to support all those in need throughout Greater Austin.

"I'm thrilled to be doing something to make a difference in Austin while still being part of the larger national movement," says Treasure Hatch, Macaroni Kid Publisher for SW Austin, Cedar Park-Round Rock. 

"For years, we've sought to harness the power of Macaroni Kid for the perfect national not-for-profit. This May, I realized that we were going about it all wrong ... Macaroni Kid is about empowering local communities. So we put the call out and invited our local Macaroni Kid Publishers to Make a Difference in their unique way in their unique communities. And more than fifty answered" explains Chief Macaroni Mom Joyce Shulman.
